Country Estate
This inspiring new build estate in the heart of the Cotswold countryside – requiring careful negotiation with local planning authorities to replace the existing farmhouse and outbuildings – has been sensitively designed to respond to the characteristics of the surrounding area.
Using local stone and detailing, and with extensive landscaping and planting - to protect and enhance the rural scenery and biodiversity - the property is equally traditional as it is innovative.
AO worked closely with the client to create a family home fit for modern day living – with spectacular and eclectic interior architecture and design, working alongside Nia Morris, and extensive smart home technologies including home cinema, intelligent lighting and sound throughout.
The client runs two businesses from home, which provided a very clear goal – to create inspiring and functional spaces for home working. Two of the four domestic outbuildings were developed into home office and workshop spaces – and according to the client, are “the perfect out-of-home but onsite working environments” – while the remaining two provide home gym / golf simulation spaces and garaging, respectively.
