Interior Architecture
Anderson Orr’s recently converted studios – located within North Oxfordshire, in the broader rural holding of the Oddington Grange Farm estate – originated as an assortment of charming, formerly agricultural brick barns, fallen surplus to requirement.
The extensive refurbishment accentuates many of the original features, including timber trusses, coffered concrete ceilings, and exposed brickwork. A striking iron staircase now stands pride of place - opening up the double-height atrium, while a contemporary Crittal-style glazing system and stunning, geometric Wireflow ‘chandelier’ – designed by Arik Levy for Vibia – flood the space with natural and feature lighting, respectively.
A bold architectural approach is softened with a coherent and calm interior fit-out. With fluidity of movement and collaborative working central to the design, an expansive open plan layout has been introduced, with dedicated drawing offices, private meeting rooms, and social breakout facilities - with varied minimalist furnishings delineating each location.
A sleek, handless kitchen from JS Designs & Interiors and bespoke bathrooms – with wall-hung washbasins and sanitaryware by Lusso Stone and hand-crafted concealed joinery from CAD Joinery – are complemented by carefully curated soft furnishings, indoor planting, and an eclectic array of seating used throughout.
A bespoke reception desk with undulating slices of lacquered birch ply and black core valchromat – expertly crafted by Langstaff-Ellis – celebrates the character of the company and compliments the new premises. With an ergonomic and minimalist design, the desk delivers a dramatic, yet understated, aesthetic at the point of entry, and serves as the principal piece of ‘art’ on site.
