We’re delighted to have secured Planning Permission for Park Barns, a state-of-the-art new build commercial premise, for Dalcour Maclaren, an established and innovative, nationwide engineering company specialising in Utility and Infrastructure. The offices have been designed to materially identify with their rural Oxfordshire setting, whilst utilising contemporary detailing to reflect the forward-thinking and sustainable aspirations of the Company.
A significant number of sustainable and renewable incorporations, and passive heating and cooling design considerations have been applied, alongside the use of locally sourced and recyclable materials. These are immediately identifiable on arrival with the locally quarried Cotswold Stone and aluminium sheet roofing.
The open plan and flexible working spaces are characterised by large feature glazing to gables, with further glazed links to common and social areas wrapping around outdoor courtyard spaces - introducing significant volumes of natural light and solar gain potential, combined with natural cross ventilation strategies, to minimize mechanical requirements for heating and cooling.
The consent includes provision for associated green outdoor social spaces, parking and electric vehicle charging points, in addition to general landscaping to deliver a considered and settled proposal within this wider rural context.
We worked with a series of supporting consultants, including Oxford & Country Planning, Nicholsons and SOLID Engineering, all of whom played a pivotal role in securing this fantastic consent.
