Our People | Katie Buckingham

August 24

This week we shine the spotlight on Katie Buckingham, our Brand & Marketing Manager, whose career path embodies a blend of creativity, precision, and a deep-rooted passion for the arts.

Katie’s journey draws inspiration from her self-employed parents, an Architect & Potter, and as one of four kids – each of whom have explored their own creative fields – she has always possessed an unwavering work ethic & creative flair, but shied away from the limelight (making this article somewhat challenging!)

In 2004, Katie was one of the top five highest achieving candidates, nationwide, in her Fine Art A-level exam, for her figurative oil painting studies. This early recognition was followed by a BA Hons in Art History from the University of Sussex, where she honed her keen eye for detail and aesthetic sensibility.

Katie's professional journey began at fifteen for lifestyle brand Cox & Cox, where as a runner on their first lifestyle shoot (creatively directed by the sadly now late founder, Fiona Cox) she discovered her passion for photography and styling. This formative experience propelled her towards a career in shoot production, leading her to the then boutique brand, Cath Kidston. Over eleven years, Katie rose through the ranks to become Head of Creative Production, earning recognition in 2016 as one of Drapers Next Generation 30 under 30.

In 2020, Katie brought her wealth of experience and exacting standards to Anderson Orr, where she currently steers our Brand and Marketing operations with a blend of artistry and strategic acumen. In addition to her creative vision and practical execution – which saw a new Brand Identity seamlessly introduced in November 2021 – Katie has an emotional sensibility & conscientious spirit, placing her perfectly to drive results with positivity, compassion & care.

Away from the studio, Katie is wife to Joe, The Gentleman Blacksmith, and devoted mother to Effie (with another little one on the way) and their beloved French Bulldog, Hemingway. In 2017, Katie and Joe moved to the Cotswolds to be closer to family and the outdoors lifestyle they always dreamt of, and after renovating their 18th-century ‘malthouse’ – which had been in Joe’s family for four generations prior to their purchase – the couple have never looked back.

Katie embodies the spirit of our team - where creativity meets precision, and passion fuels innovation. Her journey thus far is a testament to her relentless pursuit of brilliance and her steadfast commitment to elevating every project she touches.
